At Singleton Vision Center we perform LASIK and advanced surface ablation for those wishing to see better without glasses or contact lenses.
We offer the latest in technology using a Femtosecond laser flap. LASIK, also known as Laser in-situ Keratomileusis, is one of the most commonly performed type of laser eye surgery. The procedure is very fast, as well as safe, effective, and with few side effects.
Millions of people have benefited from this life changing surgery and now see clearly without the dependence on glasses or contacts.
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be a candidate for LASIK surgery. Contact us today to setup an appointment!
The surgeon first creates a corneal flap by using a computer controlled laser by delivering over millions of tiny, micron-sized bubbles that gently separate the layers of corneal tissue.
With the computer controlled laser, the surgeon can create a custom corneal flap with a desired thickness, size, orientation, and location. This allows the surgeon to have an unprecedented level of control, and allows more patients to qualify for LASIK.
Once the flap has been created, the surgeon can then proceed to lift it up, and another laser is applied to the exposed interior surface of the cornea. This will help the surgeon to reshape the cornea by removing tissue under the flap.
The flap is then repositioned over the treated area, serving as a natural bandage, and helps with the healing process. The entire surgery takes about 10 minutes per eye.
